The burdened bikes of southeast Asia

While travelling the circuit from Thailand to Laos to Vietnam to Cambodia one of the many fascinating sights is the heavily loaded motorcycles carrying everything from live ducks to six feet of boxes strapped to the back half of the rider’s seat.  It is impossible to imagine how they manage to balance these loads while weaving through the dense traffic of ox-carts, trucks, cows, cars and pedestrians who cross at will.  Here are some of the incredible things we saw and were able to capture as they flew by.
