We have arrived in Bangkok Thailand, the beginning of our south-east Asian circuit. For the first time we’re trying couchsurfing, a networking website made for travellers looking to meet local people in the countries they’re visiting. We’ve been staying with a friendly couple in outer Bangkok and have been introduced to a variety of amazing, inexpensive food because of it. We’ve explored a little around the city including the underwhelming Khao San road and the beautiful Wat Pho. A Wat is a temple complex filled with Buddhas, stupas, paintings and shimmering glass mosaics. After Bangkok we will be heading to Ko Chang for white sand beaches and sun. Apparently it’s hard in Thailand to leave the tourist trail, but we just look forward to relaxing for a bit before heading up to the northern part of the country.
